Welcome Back!!!!

I just wanted to welcome everyone back to a brand new school year!  I have so many fun ideas for the year ahead and I can not wait to have fun and get messy with all of the kiddos.

This year, I am excited to announce that I will also be teaching Kindergarten Art.  It has been a few years but they were able to get the schedule to work and I could not be more excited to work with Kinder. again!!!

I will be continuing to work on enrichment projects with the 6th and 7th grade on our Monday Enrichment period and our focuses this year will be "school beautification" and "art for prayer" (more details to follow as we get going).

If you walk around the school, you may notice some of our projects that the enrichment students made, including all of the ceramic frames that hang on the outside of every classroom as well as the rainbow pencil fences that line the garden in the pre-school play area (visible from Woodard Road).

Those who follow the blog know that I use this blog as a way to check-in on what all the students are creating in Art class.  Please feel free to follow by email (on the right hand side of the blog).  Every time I post a new post, it will notify you by email.

I'm going to start the year with a key word/phrase hint as to what each grade will be working on:

-Kinder:  Game of cat and mouse
-1st:  Under the Sea
-2nd:  Selfies
-3rd:  Buzz
-4th:  Southwest
-5th: AHHHHHHHHHH!
-6th:  Did you just throw me some shade?
-7th: City...just get to the points
-8th:  Animal...or is it?

The Kinder-8th grade Art syllabi can be found on schoolspeak under each classroom's announcement pages.

I look forward to the year ahead and seeing all of the creative things the students come up with!!!
